thinking about hiring my first employee after 6 years solo

been doing handyman work solo for 6 years now and im getting more calls than I can handle which is great but also stressful. thinking about bringing someone on but the whole liability insurance workers comp taxes thing is overwhelming. those of you who went from solo to having a crew was it actually worth it?

Start with a 1099 sub, not a W-2 employee. Way less paperwork to start.

workers comp alone will make you cry. but once you have 2-3 solid guys you can take on jobs that were impossible solo. my revenue doubled first year

get a good accountant BEFORE you hire. not after. trust me on that one

screen them real good. one bad hire costs more than staying solo. check the worker database on here before you bring anyone on
