customer ghosted on a $8200 tile job
finished a full bathroom remodel last october. Tile, fixtures, all of it. Customer signed the completion form, shook my hand, said check was in the mail. That was 3 months ago. Phones disconnected. Drove by the house last week and theres a damn for sale sign in the yard. $8200 just gone. Ive been doing this 14 years and this one still gets me. anyone else dealt with something like this? starting to think I need to require payment before I leave the site on everything

had a customer bounce a $3400 check on me last year... by the time the bank told me she already hired someone else to 'fix' my work. some people man

this is why i do 50% upfront on anything over 5k. lost too much money learning that one
